Policies & F.A.Q.

  • What are the participation requirements?

    1. Every participant is required to sign a Liability & Release Waiver before they zip. This waiver is emailed to you with your order confirmation and must be completed online.

    2. Participants under the age of 18 must have a signed waiver by a parent.

    3. Closed-toed shoes are highly recommended, because if a shoe is lost we cannot guarantee that we can find it for you. Sorry!

    4. The zip line adventure is designed for use by participants of average physical condition who are in reasonably good health. There are two mild hikes between platforms with a slight incline. Each participant must be able to complete the hikes. The trails are approximately as challenging as walking up three flights of stairs.

    5. The required participant weight range is 45 to 275 pounds.

    6. The minimum age is 7-years-old.

    7. Each participant must be physically able to control the speed of their travel along the zip lines by applying the brake on the zip line cable. All zip line skills will be taught, prior to your actual adventure, in the “flight school.”

    8. No one under the influence of alcohol, illegal drugs, or impairing legal drugs, will be allowed to participate in the adventure. Provo Canyon Adventures reserves the right to exclude anyone from participation for medical, safety, or other reasons it deems not conducive to a safe zip line adventure.

    9. Please bring any medication that may be immediately necessary to prevent the onset of a serious medical event: asthma inhalers, epi-pens, insulin, etc.

  • What are the age/weight requirements?

What is the age and weight restrictions?

You must be heavier than 45 lbs. or lighter than 275 lbs. Children must be 7 or older.

Why is there a weight limit?

The weight limit is not for the zip lines, because the lines can hold the weight of a school bus. The weight restriction is in effect because it is an insurance requirement.

What factors determine the age/weight requirements?

Weight has a large impact on traveling speeds; lighter people will travel slower and may not make it to the end, and larger people will travel faster and will have to brake more while zipping.  Harnesses and cables are rated for large weights, but traveling speed and control can be a big issue for heavier people.

Do I need to be physically fit?

No, as long as you are less than 275 pounds, you are good to go. However, on some platforms there will be stairs and/or hills to climb, so you must evaluate your own ability to climb stairs and walk on uneven terrain.

My child is six-years-old, but he weighs over 45 lbs. Can he zip?

We require a minimum weight of 45 lbs., and children must be 7 years of age. This is to ensure they have good motor skills and coordination to manipulate themselves along the zip cable if necessary.

  • Weather Policies

Do you operate in the rain?

Yes, we operate in the rain. However, the course will be closed if there is lightning in the vicinity, and advance notice may not be possible. If we know in advance that we will be closed we will try to notify you ASAP. If your adventure is cancelled due to weather, you may rebook for another time, or we will refund the purchase price of your adventure.

What if there is bad weather?

Zip adventures will run rain or shine. “Bad” weather is determined per individual, not always by the actual weather. Some people do not arrive prepared for a change of temperature or mild precipitation. If your adventure is cancelled due to weather, you may rebook for another time, or we will refund the purchase price.

What if I zip during the winter months?

Please be aware that during the winter months the temperature can be cold. Although we are in a high desert climate, it is not uncommon to hit 50 degrees in December! Zip lining in the winter is still a lot fun if you are prepared for it. We recommend that you wear skiing attire if it is a colder day. The key is to always dress for the weather, it’s really that simple.

  • What is your cancellation policiy

    What is the cancellation policy?

Customers will receive a full refund with 24 hours notice of cancellation. Customers will also receive a full refund in case of operator cancellation due to weather or other unforeseen circumstances.  No-shows will be charged the full price. Contact us by phone to cancel or inquire about a cancellation. 801-960-3113

  • What should I wear?

We ask that you wear close-toed shoes and comfortable clothing, but please avoid clothing that is very loose. Long hair will need to be tied back. Skirts are not recommended, as they are not as comfortable while wearing your harness.

Jewelry, cellphones, and wallets are best left locked up in your car, but we have a pouch for your convenience if you want to take it with you. Provo Canyon Adventures is not responsible for property lost, damaged, or stolen during your adventure.

Dress for the forecasted weather. We do operate in the rain, so please be prepared because the canyon is often much cooler than in the valley and you will be outside for up to three hours. We recommend layering your clothes since it is much easier to peel them off if you get hot.
